Bitcoin Holder Conviction Index
The Holder Conviction Index (HCRI) is a 0-100 composite of Bitcoin holder behavior: supply retention, retention momentum, spending pressure, and Long-Term Holder positioning. Each component is scored by its percentile rank against its own prior history (no look-ahead), then averaged.
It complements the Supply Retention Rate curve by folding retention together with how much old-coin spending is happening and whether LTHs are net accumulating, into a single reading: 0-20 Capitulation, 20-40 Weak Hands, 40-60 Neutral, 60-80 Strong Hands, 80-100 Diamond Hands.
Unlike most on-chain composites, every input here is behavioral (how holders act), not price-based (how the asset is valued) — orthogonal to indexes like MVRV Z-Score or the Bitcoin Regime Score. Published from 2012-01-01 onward.
